Askou: Never mind a statement win over Celts, we're in it for big season

JENS BERTHEL ASKOU insists Motherwell won't get distracted by their statement win over Celtic... because the Steelmen want a signature season.
Well were outstanding when dumping the champions 2-0 on Tuesday night to end 2025 on a high.
Askou has been praised for revolutionising the style of play since replacing Michael Wimmer in June, landing his biggest victim yet as Wilfried Nancy's Hoops were cut down.
But the Danish boss won't rest on his laurels in 2026, with Well two points off third-top Rangers and eight behind Premiership leaders Hearts heading into tomorrow's visit from St Mirren.
When asked if the win over Celtic was a big moment to mark progress, he said: "No. I've had that question before. Do we need to get a signature win?
"We're in it for a signature season.
