Karlsson reckons Dons boss has reinvented his style in the fight for Premiership points
JESPER KARLSSON reckons Jimmy Thelin has had to revamp his style as a manager coming from Sweden's Allsvenskan to the far tougher challenge of the Premiership.
Thelin has struggled to get his Reds side going this term after the heroics of his maiden season's Scottish Cup win over Celtic back in May.
He built a reputation at Elfsborg with his fast, attacking 4-2-3-1 formation and plenty of goals.
But that hasn't worked here - despite a good start last term at Pittodrie - so Thelin changed to the more flexible 3-5-2 to provide his team with added defensive stability.
Winger Karlsson said: “Has the manager had to change a lot? I think so, with the players he has here now. That's every manager's job, though.
“The manager wants to play an offensive style but the situation were in is different so we've had to change things.
“The Swedish league is so different to the league here.
“There's a different structure, a different quality. This is a harder league than the Swedish league.
