A BLACKMAILER whose victim paid thousands of pounds to stop an explicit photo being published has narrowly avoided jail.

The 53-year-old male victim received 14 handwritten notes demanding cash over a three-week period.

Athen Davis, 23, of Fauldhouse in West Lothian, was put under supervision for 30 months at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week. He was ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work and must pay the victim back the £4500 he extorted.
