'Ross is a lone wolf, he won't be held back'

Emmerdale star Mike Parr says viewers can expect plenty of drama as bad boy Ross Barton's life descends into chaos

Charity Dingle is pregnant - and the baby might be Ross Barton's. The shock twist stunned Emmerdale fans but for actor Mike Parr, who plays the brooding troublemaker, the storyline hits close to home.

Off-screen, Mike is also preparing for fatherhood with his girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis. “How ironic that there's this storyline going on and I have one on the way," he said.

Last week, Charity found out she was pregnant after weeks of trying to conceive a baby as a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah. The teen, who suffers from the condition Fanconi anemia, can’t have a child of her own so she was thrilled when Charity was willing to carry her baby for her.

But Ross isn’t celebrating Charity’s pregnancy. “He's a bit like a dog with a bone,” Mike said. “He knows Charity is a bit of a lying scoundrel, as is he. He just wants confirmation. Is this his child or not?”
