Carlos hails British kid after ending his dream

OLIVER TARVET was lavished with praise after rising to the occasion against Spanish ace Carlos Alcaraz.

British wildcard Tarvet didn't wilt in the Centre Court heat as he took nine games off the defending champion.

And the 21-year-old was tipped for a bright future after his SW19 debut.

After his 6-1 6-4 6-4 second-round win wrapped up a 20th consecutive tour win, world No.2 Alcaraz said: “I just loved his game to be honest. It's only his second match on tour and I know the first match on Centre Court is very difficult.
