Ivan has soft spot for us.. but not tonight

WITH Scotland needing a result in Greece to get to the World Cup, they could have picked worse bosses to go up against than Ivan Jovanovic.

After all, on the eve of the crucial Group C showdown in Piraeus, the 63-year-old Serb has revealed he’s always had a soft spot for the Scots.

Jovanovic’ son Nikola studied in Edinburgh, with the Greece gaffer a regular visitor to our capital city.

He's well versed on Hearts’ charge towards the top of the Premiership - as well as the form of Jambos winger Alexandros Kyziridis, who could be on the verge of a call-up.

Jovanovic loves the Scottish people and is an admirer of Steve Clarke's side... but that won't stop him trying to end our World Cup dream with a win.

The Greeks may not be able to qualify but having faced Clarke's boys on three occasions this year - and feeling they were the better team in at least two of those games he wants a positive result.
