Millions of UK pension pots plunge amid chaos
Daily Record
|April 05, 2025
MILLIONS of Brits have had thousands cut from the value of their pensions as market turmoil deepened over the tariffs war.
Shares plunged for a second day, with the FTSE 100 crashing more than 400 points by the end of trading, or almost five per cent.
And another £2.5trillion was wiped off global markets, on top of £2trillion on Thursday, the day after Donald Trump's tariffs blow.
While the longer term impact of the row is unclear, it is already affecting workers.
UK car-makers will be hit by the 25 per cent tariff on all foreign cars imported to the US, which could put 25,000 British jobs at risk.
