The former Rangers kid has an understanding of the stresses the under-fire home players face heading into the crunch clash.

Mayo knows it remains a tough task for Killie but is aware it could turn difficult for the hosts if Killie can get into their stride and pile pressure onto Danny Rohl’s team.

The Rugby Park defender said: “Rangers are not in the kind of form they want to be in so they'll have a lot of frustration surrounding them.

“There still have plenty of good players who can hurt us so we'll focus on getting our bit right.

“The crowd can play into it as well, just knowing that there's zero patience at all in that crowd.

“Last thing we want to do is give them a lift and some encouragement because then everything feels harder.
