A HIKER who was lost in the Highlands for eight days without food has told of his epic suvival.
Ian Currie set off from Glenfinnan to walk the Cape Wrath trail towards Knoydart on September 16 but went missing after he was caught up in bad weather and missed his route.
A major search was launched after he was reported missing by his family.
The 76-year-old hillwalker, from Tollcross, Edinburgh, spent eight days alone in the hills with no food before he was found and rescued by a stranger.
He wanted to thank everyone who helped him and his family as he spoke publicly for the first time since his ordeal.
