LEGEND OF MON
Daily Record
|November 11, 2025
LUKE MCCOWAN says legendary leader Martin O'Neill has an "aura" that is inspiring the Celtic players.
But the Hoops ace reckons they must ignore the ongoing managerial issue to get wins, while insisting the icon has poured belief and drive into his troops.
The 73-year-old interim manager has had four games alongside Shaun Maloney since the exit of Brendan Rodgers and is now awaiting news from club chiefs on his future.
O'Neill doesn't know at this stage whether he'll be asked to extend his spell in charge after this international break.
And supporters are anxiously awaiting the club's next move.
But, when asked, McCowan agreed Celts are in good hands should the veteran remain for longer, saying "I mean, it's Martin O'Neill at the end of the day.
"He's got that aura and brings that motivating factor of what it means to play for this club, as did the previous manager.
"He just brings that different kind of speech before a game and just puts full belief in everybody that's in a squad and is really forward to everybody as well.
"He doesn't make you think anything, he just tells you how it is.
