Don't disappear in the dark: How cyclists can stay visible this autumn

As the darker months set in across Scotland, staying safe on our roads becomes a concern for everyone.

Longer nights and bad weather can reduce visibility resulting in more accidents, explains Diane Cooper, Partner at Digby Brown.

Provisional data from Traffic Scotland shows 883 pedestrians and 382 cyclists were injured on Scotland's roads, with a further 41 pedestrians and three cyclists killed in 2024.

Everyone on the road must take extra care - especially vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.
