Leanne backs Old Firm win to have put Gers on road to title glory

LEANNE CRICHTON believes Rangers’ Old Firm victory can spark a title charge.

Second-half goals from Mia McAulay and Eilidh Austin saw he Light Blues beat Celtic to go to the top of the SWPL.

Champions Hibs and runners-up Glasgow City both have a game in hand, but even this early in the campaign, Crichton reckons there was still a lot to take from yesterday's victory.

The Ibrox boss is convinced it has given her side the belief that they can go on to be crowned champions.

Crichton said: “There's pressure with the fixture and I think we embraced that today.

“Were really pleased with the performance and the result. Against Motherwell last week I had a pop at them for the second-half performance.
