Model and ex-husband Peter Andre call unexpected truce at request of 'upset' children
AFTER 16 years of mudslinging and animosity, peace has finally broken out between Katie Price and Peter Andre.
It’s a turn of events that no one saw coming... including me.
The pair's joint statement yesterday vowed to ‘close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect.” From now on, the pair have pledged not to “speak negatively” about each other, as well as having a “shared commitment to our family and stability”.
It added: “We want to stand united for our children.”
Having covered the ups and downs of this couple for 20 years, my first instinct was of deep scepticism.
While I have no doubt that Peter craves peace and quiet, Katie is a showbiz bruiser not afraid of speaking her mind.
But having spoken to friends of the former married couple yesterday, there really is a sense of confidence that peace can and will endure.
Not least as the real architects of the decision to lay down arms are not the former couple...but their children Junior, 20, and Princess, 18.
