JOHNNY OFF THE MARK - 4 YEARS ON
Daily Record
|October 04, 2025
JOHNNY KOUTROUMBIS scored his first goal in almost four years last week as Motherwell beat Aberdeen.
And the defender was thrilled to celebrate in front of an adoring Fir Park public after his previous strike was met with total silence.
The Aussie’s goal for Western Sydney against Wellington was scored at the height of the Covid pandemic with no fans allowed in the New Zealand's team's stadium.
Koutroumbis said: “It was a bit different last week and it’s hard to replicate those moments.
“There's no better feeling than scoring a goal in the 90th minute in front of a crowd like ours.
“They're our 12th man and you just want to play for these people.
