McInnes wants quick payback on Hibees after painful derby defeat
DEREK MCINNES admits he is already counting down the days until next month's Edinburgh derby - with Hearts desperate to make amends for last weekend's defeat to Hibs.
The Jambos suffered only their second loss of the season in a 3-2 reverse at Easter Road after a late fightback from 3-0 down proved too little too late.
And boss McInnes concedes even the comfort of being top of the league offered little consolation in the aftermath of that result.
Hearts will attempt to get back on track in Saturday's visit of Livingston but McInnes insists the setback in Leith stung.
He said: "I think it's hard to look at perspective when you've lost a derby, genuinely, because it's too emotional and you don't want to hide behind that either.
"So it was a sore one for us at the weekend, there's no two ways about it.
"And we should be feeling sore if you lose a derby game like that.
I think we're just annoyed.
