Brendan confirms Tierney's coming home as he eyes a Villa victory

- BY CRAIG SWAN

BRENDAN RODGERS has confirmed Kieran Tierney is heading back to Celtic.

And the Parkhead boss is hoping to get a deal done before the close of this transfer window.

Tierney's Arsenal contract is up in the summer but Rodgers also hunting a new striker to replace Kyogo Furuhashi hopes he could be signed by the close of this window.

Full-back Alex Valle's loan from Barcelona has been cut short ahead of a move to Italian side Como.

Asked if Valle's departure could speed up the Tierney move, Rodgers said: "Ideally, it would.

"But at this moment he's still an Arsenal player.

"So I think everyone is agreed that will definitely take place in the summer.

"If we can do it beforehand, then great.

"I don't know. I think that we'd prepared that for the summer.
