It's a Rohl new bawl game as Italians expose Rangers flaws

ROME wasn't built in a day - but it only took 90 minutes for Roma to show Danny Rohl it’s going to take him a lot longer than that to create a Rangers team capable of delivering on the European stage.

League tables don't lie. And after being swatted aside by the Italians last night, this one reads like a Stephen King novel.

Played four, lost four, 36th out of 36 in the Europa League at the halfway stage of a catastrophic campaign.

Let's face it, given the contrasting fortunes of both clubs this season, last night was always going to be a tall order. And when the team currently sitting second top of Serie A came out of the tunnel, it was glaringly obvious in every sense.

Roma’ players towered over the likes of Nico Raskin, Connor Barron, Djeidi Gassama and Mikey Moore, They looked down on the likes of John Souttar, Youssef Chermiti and Nasser Djiga as well, for that matter.

But it wasn't just a matter of physical stature. This Rangers team has shown signs of improvement under Rohl, but it is still miles off where it needs to be.
