Expected rate cut gives FTSE and builders a boost
THE FTSE 100 hit a fresh record high yesterday, fuelled by expectations of a Bank of England rate cut next month.
The UK’ flagship index jumped 112 points to 9899.6 — close to the milestone 10,000 mark. The Footsie has gained almost £280billion since late summer.
