Smith believes Warrior Matthews will have point to prove after Toonie snub
FRANCO SMITH reckons Johnny Matthews will be fired up by his Scotland snub.
The Glasgow hooker was a surprise omission when Gregor Townsend named his squad on Wednesday for the autumn series.
Matthews was the top try scorer in the URC last season and has been in good form for Warriors but still didn't make the cut.
Smith didn't want to publicly criticise Toonie for leaving his man out. But he reckons Matthews will have a point to prove when he starts for Glasgow against the Stormers this afternoon.
The head coach said: "I'm not going to step into that one!
"But Johnny is a good player and he's knocking on the Scotland door.
