FINALLY we saw a glimpse of Thomas Tuchel's England - and it was enough to get the fans dreaming again.

- JOHN CROSS IN BELGRADE

The Three Lions rose to the occasion in Belgrade with a statement victory which as good as books their place at next summer's World Cup.

It was also about the manner in which they got the job done - disciplined, clinical and hugely impressive as they scored five in an intimidating place.

England turned it into a precession as they ran riot while Serbia's captain, Nottingham Forest star Nikola Milenkovic, was also sent off.

It was a far cry from the uninspired showing against Andorra over the weekend by England. Tuchel promised to go route one and start using set pieces ahead of next summer, even that worked a treat as dead-eye Declan Rice did for England what he does for Arsenal with two brilliant deliveries.
