Top climate experts warn UK to prepare for global warming hell

BRITAIN must be prepared to cope with far worse bouts of drought, heatwaves, floods and wildfires triggered by critical global warming, climate experts say.

The independent Climate Change Committee fears the UK has not adapted to the weather extremes that are already happening at current levels of 1.4C of warming, let alone what is to come.

It has urged ministers to set out stronger targets for protecting health, homes, food security, infrastructure and key public services in the face of 2C of warming by 2050 “at a minimum”.
