Cup trip to Cappielow could be treacherous for Dons fans
-
ABERDEEN have made a dreadful start to the new Premiership season so the last thing they need today is a trip to Cappielow in the League Cup.
The Dons went into the summer on a high after beating Celtic on penalties to lift the Scottish Cup but that disguised a worrying slump in league form.
That decline has continued into the new campaign, with defeats to Hearts and Celtic making it just five wins in their last 29 league games.
The biggest concern is a lack of punch up front, with new signing Kusini Yengi looking devoid of confidence.
The former Portsmouth striker turned in the kind of display against Celtic last weekend that probably saw “How much did Aberdeen pay for Kusini Yengi?” top Google's charts for a couple of hours in Scotland.
It would be a big surprise if he started today in the League Cup against Morton and a potential shock could be on the cards.
