Fernandez wants Gers to go on a charge towards title glory after seeing winning run grind to a halt in Portugal

RANGERS saw one winning streak sink in Porto - but Manny Fernandez has vowed his side are out to launch another down by the Water of Leith.

Danny Rohl was hoping to extend an eight-game run of victories as they squared up to Francesco Farioli’s Portuguese outfit on Thursday night.

But it was Gers who felt the heat as the Dragons scorched their way to a 3-1 win in the Light Blues’ Europa League dead rubber.

The defeat to Porto brings a horror continental campaign to an end.

But on the domestic front Gers are only just getting started, having clawed their way back into a title race they had given up as lost.

They now face a sprint to the finish line, with tomorrow's capital test against Hibs at Easter Road the first of 15 hurdles to be overcome.

And giant stopper Fernandez has no doubt his side can go the distance as they look to pip Hearts and Celtic to the Premiership post.

He said: “We need to go on another winning run.

“We've put the Porto game to rest, we won't think about it again and we move on to the next one.

“It will be a difficult game on Sunday, I feel like whatever match we go into it's not easy.
