Dad compares struggle to get FAls with stonewalling after Hillsborough

- PAUL HUTCHEON

BEREAVED parents have demanded a legal change to help families secure a fatal accident inquiry if a loved one dies abroad.

Davy Cornock, who believes his son was murdered in Thailand, compared the struggle of getting investigations to the stonewalling after the Hillsborough tragedy.

Julie Love, whose son drowned in Venezuela, believes the government must close a legal loophole to help grieving families.

Their calls will be heard at a high-level summit at Holyrood today.

Thousands of inquests have taken place in England and Wales into deaths abroad but no fatal accident inquiries have been launched in the same circumstances since a law was passed in 2016.
