CORMACK IN DIRE WARNING ON STADIUM
Daily Record
|December 09, 2025
DAVE CORMACK has warned Aberdeen will walk away from the proposed new stadium at the beach if no progress is made in the next two years.
The Pittodrie chairman has confirmed he and chief executive Alan Burrows are due to meet with city officials on Friday.
The aim is to see if they can come to an agreement over the beachfront facility - that some councillors have publicly opposed.
Cormack said: “There's no point us pushing a heavy trolley up the hill for the next three or four years.
“We believe in this project and I'ma cup half-full guy but we probably need to give this another 18 months or two years to see it through.
“If that's not going to happen, we need to look at an alternative.
“They have asked us to meet on Friday, we have to meet and get an honesty from them by asking, ‘Do you really want to do this’. If not, that’s fine”
