Defoe dubs Coady 'perfect fit' after Ibrox chat

JERMAIN DEFOE has urged Rangers to tie up a deal for Conor Coady as he revealed the Leicester defender is keen on a move to Ibrox.

The former Light Blues frontman shared a TV studio with Coady on Saturday night covering England Under-21s European.

The Foxes centre-back is wanted by new Rangers boss Russell Martin as part of his Ibrox rebuild.

And Defoe says Coady is excited about the prospect of a move to Glasgow this summer.

The former England frontman who was a title winner with Gers in 2021 believes Coady would be a terrific signing for his old club.

And he's implored Martin and Co to get it over the line before other clubs try and get him about In an exclusive interview with Record Sport, Defoe revealed: "I spoke to Conor and we had a good conversation Rangers. He knows how big the club is and I think he's the perfect fit for Rangers.

"I've obviously spoken to him and I just hope the deal gets done now.
