City chiefs urged rethink on liberal policy that has fuelled emergency

SNP-RUN Glasgow City Council pleaded with Nationalist Ministers two years ago to suspend liberal homelessness rules blamed for fuelling a housing crisis.
But the Scottish Government ignored the demand, despite the city facing a growing housing emergency.

Council figures believe the Home Office policy of emptying asylum seeker hotels has created a massive refugee homelessness problem.
Critics of the SNP government say its decisions are making matters worse.
