Rosemary, 69, passes away 14 years after death of Hoops player and boss

THE widow of Celtic legend Tommy Burns has died on a flight from Tenerife to Glasgow.

Rosemary Burns, 69, passed away after falling ill on a Jet2 flight yesterday.

The plane made an emergency landing in Cork after declaring an on-board incident.

A source close to the family told the Record that Rosemary had fallen ill while on holiday in the Canaries and boarded an earlier flight home.

They said: "Rosemary became unwell while on holiday in Tenerife.

"She was ill and felt that she had to get home. She decided to end her trip and fly back to Scotland.
