Social Security chief salary tops £115k

BOSSES at Social Security Scotland have been handed inflation-busting pay rises despite a £770million blackhole in welfare spending.

The quango was established in 2018 by the SNP Government to administer devolved benefits such as the Scottish Child Payment.

David Wallace, the Social Security Scotland chief executive, now earns an annual salary of between £115,000 and £120,000, according to the organisation's report for 2024-25. He previously earned between £105,000 and £110,000.
