that things have to improve at Ibrox. While the Parkhead hierarchy are hunkering down amid a backlash from the seething Celtic support, it was refreshing to someone at Ibrox come out and address some of the issues that have been frustrating Rangers fans this season.

There's no doubt that kicking off the season with four draws and that heavy Brugge defeat is nowhere near good enough. But Russell Martin himself has spoken about the negative effect all the uncertainty surrounding so many of his players has had on performances.

Now that the window has closed, the squad is settled and it's about kick-starting their campaign.

That's my wish too, of course. The manager has had to contend with a hectic schedule comprising 11 games all in the space of just 40 days. That's just the way it is at Rangers.
