BARNEY SET FOR BAIRNS PROMOTION

JOHN MCGLYNN believes giving Barney Stewart a crack at Premiership defences is no gamble as he confirmed he’s coming back to Falkirk for good.

The 21-year-old striker has netted seven goals in 11 games since joining Neil Lennon's Championship side Dunfermline on loan three months ago.

The deal was in place until January and McGlynn has kept his cards close to his chest this month as to his plans for him in the second half of the season.

But the Bairns boss has now revealed he intends to reward the youngster’s cracking form in the tier below with a shot at the top flight.

Asked if he had reached a decision, McGlynn said: “We've had a discussion so I don't think I'll be breaking any trust or anything like that ~ he'll be coming back.

“My intention is for him to come back and play here.”
