Ally Pally win would be a most fitting tribute

KEEPING CAM Menzies, who dealt with so much last year, wants to honour his uncle's memory

CAMERON MENZIES has opened up on the emotional loss that will fuel his world title bid.

The Scottish star heads to the Ally Pally in the form of his life determined to banish the anguish of last year's London misery.

Menzies was in tears during a defeat to Leonard Gates as the worry of his dad Ricky being in hospital hit home while unaware crowds jeered him.

At the same time, his uncle Gary Eagle was also struggling with health and, while his old man made a recovery in the New Year, the man known as Budgie did not.

Eagle, once a darts ace himself on the Somerset County scene, passed away earlier this month.

Menzies will have him in his mind at the Worlds and knows Budgie would rather he delivers at the Ally Pally, even if that means missing the funeral.

The Ayrshire hero said: "My uncle went into the hospital the same time as my dad last year. When my dad got out, my uncle never did.
