Warning of icy roads as brief cold spell sets in

THE Met Office has issued a 17 hour weather alert for ice for North Wales.

It came onto effect at 5pm yesterday and lasts until 10am today, as temperatures plummet to around OC, covering Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.
People have been warned to take extra care on the roads and beware of icy patches, with potential injuries from slips and falls.
A Met Office forecast said: "A band of rain and sleet, with a little snow on hills, will clear southwards across England and Wales during Friday evening and overnight.
