Twenty-two alleged victims of paedophile headteacher suing council

A LAW firm is suing Cyngor Gwynedd on behalf of more than 20 alleged victims of paedophile headteacher Neil Foden.
The controlling and feared headteacher of Ysgol Friars in Bangor and strategic head of Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle had for years escaped any consequences for his offending despite numerous concerns and 52 missed opportunities to stop him, These were highlighted in a damning report following a Child Practice Review.
His reign of terror finally ended in 2023 when a claim of sexual assault was made by a child and Foden arrested. Last year he was jailed for 17 years after being convicted of 19 charges involving four girls.
A solicitor representing victims has called for an independent investigation into why authorities failed to act, despite dozens of safeguarding concerns.
Cambridge-based abuse law specialist Andrew Grove & Co Solicitors is suing the council on behalf of 22 victims aged between 15 and 58.
