INVESTIGATION AS STREAM IN TOWN CHANGES COLOUR
AN investigation is underway in Denbighshire after a stream turned milky white.
Residents in Denbigh speculated several possible causes but the underlying fear was contamination through pollution.
Henllan Brook runs through a residential area and is culverted beneath Denbigh Friary and the town's retail park before reemerging and flowing towards the local police station. Fears of a pollution incident sparked concerns for wildlife and children playing in the area.
The incident was reported to Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and its source has since been identified. But an explanation is still awaited. A spokesperson said: "We are aware of reports of discolouration in a stream known as Henllan Brook in Denbigh and are currently investigating.
