PLANS for a static caravan to be used as a permanent residence were backed by Denbighshire County Council's planning committee on Wednesday.

STATIC CARAVAN ALLOWED AS PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR ROMANY GYPSY

An application to site a Romany Gypsy static caravan at Cae Newydd, Llanfynydd (pictured) has been approved by Denbighshire Council

Stephen Miller submitted the planning application for "well-hidden" land at Cae Newydd, south of the village of Llanynys in the Llandyrnog ward.

The static caravan will now be permitted to be sited on an existing area of hardstanding ground, with foul waste managed by a septic tank.

The land is currently used for grazing horses and for the manufacture of traditional bow-shaped Romany caravans and carts.
