Readers in sympathy with villagers in beauty spot traffic nightmare

The idyllic village, a hotspot for tourists during peak seasons, is facing significant traffic jams, causing dismay among local inhabitants.

Leading the charge against the frequent traffic snarls in Newborough, Anglesey, are two grandmothers and a dedicated community member.

The influx of visitors aiming for the scenic Traeth Llanddwyn and Newborough Forest often brings village activities to a standstill.

The beach, regularly listed among the top 10, and its tidal island, draw crowds every year.

Grandmother-of-seven Annwen Williams, 58, expressed her exasperation: "For years there have been lots of meetings and lots of talk but not enough action," she declared.

"Well, we are now the action! We're fed up and we need things to change. And we won't be backing down - this weekend’s protest won't be the last.
