Man left 'fighting for life' after stabbing on his own doorstep

A MAN was left fighting for his life after being stabbed in the chest on his own doorstep.
Sam Williams stabbed his victim in the chest and slashed his face after their 'strained relationship' turned violent.
The victim, whose life was saved thanks to emergency medical treatment, later said Williams 'looked like a demon' as he launched his violent attack. At Mold Crown Court on Thursday, Williams, aged 31, was jailed for eight years, extended with four on licence, after admitting wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The court heard the violent assault took place outside a property in Foundry Lane, Welshpool, on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Police were called to the scene by paramedics, who detailed how the victim had sustained a stab wound that pierced his lung cavity, leading to substantial blood loss.
The victim also suffered a long cut to the left side of his face, narrowly avoiding his eye.
Prior to the attack, Williams, of Montgomery, and the victim were acquainted but had a tense relationship due to past personal disagreements.
Despite generally maintaining a civil relationship, tensions began to rise when Williams started displaying threatening behaviour towards the victim in the weeks leading up to the attack.
