Makeover of popular Colonnade to begin

A COLUMN-lined walkway in a North Wales seaside town is getting an £800,000 makeover to prevent it deteriorating further.

Llandudno's iconic Colonnade is set to undergo a major restoration because it is “at risk’, with work starting today and a diversion being put in place.

Conwy County Borough Council has announced there will be a joint investment of £800,000 by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund and the Welsh Government Brilliant Basics Fund.

The 170-metre covered walkway is behind the Grand Hotel overlooking Llandudno Bay, Victorian pier and promenade.
