Charlotte was "very excited" to shoot in The Big Apple, and for Penn, it was the ideal location.

"Coming back to New York, for me, is great because it's my home," he says. "There's nothing quite like shooting in New York City. So, for me it's just light on light."

It's in the bookstore that Joe meets Bronte, played by Madeline Brewer (Orange Is The New Black, The Handmaid's Tale), who has been sleeping in the bookshop to escape a bad ex-boyfriend.

"She likes romance novels, fairy smut, and internet sleuthing. That's Bronte," explains New Jersey-born Madeline, 32.

"[She's] a little manic pixie dream girl vagabond who's sleeping in the office, and he's instantly enchanted.
