Frimpong is defensively better than Trent, says Babbel

JEREMIE Frimpong has been backed to improve on the previous "big weakness" of Trent Alexander-Arnold and bolster Liverpool's rearguard.

Frimpong became Liverpool's first signing of the summer when he completed a £29million move from Bayer Leverkusen earlier this month.

The Reds swooped for the 24-year-old Holland international - who can play in various positions down the right flank - after Alexander-Arnold confirmed he would not sign a new contract at Anfield this summer, with the England international then joining Real Madrid in a deal worth £10m to Liverpool.

And ex-Reds right-back Markus Babbel is convinced Frimpong (pictured) will become an integral player under Arne Slot.
