Dragons told to move for Newcastle striker Wilson
Daily Post
|May 23, 2025
WREXHAM have been encouraged to swoop for Newcastle United star Callum Wilson.
The England international, who has earned nine caps, is facing an uncertain future as his contract at St James' Park draws to a close.
The striker made the move from Bournemouth to the Toon in September 2020 for £20million and has netted 47 Premier League goals in 110 appearances.
However, persistent back and hamstring problems, along with the emergence of Alexander Isak, have seen the 33-year-old's opportunities dwindle this season.
Despite making 21 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle this term, he has only found the back of the net once and started twice.
Wrexham, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are now being urged to secure Wilson's services following their promotion to the Championship, especially as the forward could soon be a free agent.
