THE Dinorben Arms is located right in the middle of the small village of Bodfari, you will find it next to the imposing St Stephen's church.

Dinorben Arms, Bodfari

The car park is like one of those bendy routes on an alpine mountain road, but at least you will find a parking space on the steep three-tier car park.

The building is steeped in history and loved by many who remember the old Scandinavian-style smorgasbord menu or chicken in a basket from the seventies.

The decor is classy and respects the past whilst also managing to look new and modern.

You will find the familiar low beams, snugs with walls decorated with portraits as well as relics from the pub’s past.

There is an old well that sits in front of a well-stocked bar and there is a roaring fire with Chesterfield chairs placed in front of it.

A tall tower has been added to the rear of the building with a spacious Alpen style terrace, which has some of the best views across the mountains.

On a sunny day, it must be a great place to sit and watch the sunset with a gin and tonic in your hand.

It was a rather grey overcast day when we visited but the venue was remarkably busy for a Monday afternoon and there were only three unreserved tables left. We hadn’t booked, so were lucky to get a table.
