Spain winger dreams of lifting trophy at San Mames base
NICO Williams helped deny England continental glory last summer and is now looking to prove the scourge of Manchester United as the Athletic Bilbao star looks to fulfil his dream of lifting the Europa League on home turf.
The wonderfully talented 22-year-old winger is among the hottest prospects in world football and was widely linked with a move following his key role in Spain’s European Championship triumph last summer.
Williams opened the scoring as La Roja beat Gareth Southgate’s England 2-1 in the Berlin finale, just three months on from helping Athletic win the Copa del Rey to end their 40-year trophy drought.
Now he is seeking to help bring even greater success to Bilbao, with a semi-final against Ruben Amorim's United all that stands between them and a place in the Europa League final held at their San Mames home on May 21.
