Bosses questioned by MPs over handling of the game

WELSH rugby bosses faced a series of questions by MPs over their handling of the Welsh game yesterday, with Abi Tierney and Richard Collier-Keywood adamant their plans will lead to an improvement in the future.

A Welsh Affairs Committee hearing saw Welsh Rugby Union CEO Tierney and chair Collier-Keywood quizzed by politicians - although the grilling that many would have hoped for ultimately failed to materialise.

There was little in the way of revelations, despite the news cycle of the last few days. Much of the questioning revolved around the grassroots game, with the meeting suspended twice before a question on the future of the Ospreys was answered.
