David Menuisier's (below) runner won the three-year-old’s version of the race on this Haydock card 12 months ago.

He’s only had three runs this season, so arrives fresher than most. After a promising return to action when runner-up in the Great Metropolitan Handicap at Epsom, he ran well when fourth behind subsequent Royal Ascot winner French Master over 1m6f at Goodwood.

Those efforts came when his trainer was struggling.
