Dame Vera's audition recordings set to be released 90 years on

- BY DAN WARBURTON

VERA Lynn's audition recordings are to be released for the first time - 90 years after she sang on them.

The treasure trove was discovered at her former home.

Among the haul are silver aluminium discs labelled by hand with the song titles What a Difference a Day Makes and Spring Don't Mean a Thing to Me.

A copy of Dame Vera's first record - It's Home - was also found. It is from 1935, four years before she got the nickname the 'Forces' Sweetheart' in the Second World War.
