'Use a bottle' message to bus drivers is taking the pee

Union & staff condemn bosses' 'insulting' advice

BUS drivers are mortified and insulted after bosses encouraged them to wee in bottles during work.

An internal message, titled a quick pit stop reminder, was sent to Manchester's Stagecoach drivers, who are striking today in a dispute over pay.

The note said: “If nature calls while you're on the go and you have to use a bottle for a quick comfort break (we get it - tight schedules happen), please make sure to take it with you and dispose of it properly.

“Let's keep our buses fresh, clean and respectful for everyone - including your fellow drivers.”

Female drivers have to use staff-only facilities in bus stations but, staff say, these have been removed, forcing them to find public toilets.
