Musk is slammed for stirring tensions with political posts
ELON Musk has been branded "deeply irresponsible" for using his social media site X to stoke tensions in Britain.
The multi-billionaire, who bought tech platform Twitter in 2022 and changed it to X in 2023, clashed with Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a war of words over riots across our country.
Mr Musk yesterday issued a stream of posts on the crisis, sharing videos from right-wing influencers and memes about the UK to his 193 million followers.
He branded the PM "two-tier Keir" over accusations of "two-tier policing" in Britain, which the PM has rejected.
Asked if he was worried about Mr Musk's influence, Mr Starmer last night insisted his "sole focus" is on keeping communities in Britain safe.
Speaking after a Cobra meeting, he said: "It's very important for us all to support the police in what they're doing."
Asked whether he had a message for Mr Musk, he said: "Our first duty has to be to our communities to keep them safe. That is my sole focus.
"The police are doing a difficult job in difficult circumstances, and I think that everybody should be given their full support to ensure that we can make sure our streets are safe and our communities feel safe and secure."That is really where the focus ought to be."
Last night MPs said Mr Musk could be summoned to Parliament to be grilled over his comments, as well as his platform's role in stoking violence.
