The Rock to our new Pride of Britain winner: I'm your biggest fan... literally

The 12-year-old knew he would never dare say such a thing to the real actor's face, telling his dad: "He would knock me out."

But, as just a schoolboy there was no chance he would ever meet the Hollywood star...

Then a few hours later that all changed, when the Jumanji actor surprised him with the news he had been named Child of Courage at the 2025 Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises.

"I'm like your biggest fan - maybe literally" the vertically blessed star told the stunned youngster.

Luke, who had meningitis at the age of six and had to have all his limbs amputated, was recognised for his work undertaking a series of incredible physical challenges for charity.

He has raised tens of thousands of pounds to help others by climbing mountains.

Dwayne, 53, told him: "You inspire a lot of people, including me now."

The emotional meeting happened while Luke and his dad Adam were on a special day out in London as a treat for Luke's efforts.

This included a visit to the world-famous Madame Tussauds museum, where Luke had his first encounter with The Rock that day - a true-to-size wax figurine.

Later, father and son checked in to a fancy hotel - and decided to get some room service.
